Tracklisting:

1. Listening In (From "My Mom's New Boyfriend")

Details:

Commissioned especially for a Meg Ryan/Antonio Banderas feature, My Mom's New Boyfriend, by the film's producer, Ian and his songwriting partner set out to fashion a big, bittersweet pop gem about paranoia and obsession. Ultimately, it makes only a brief appearance in the film, but it leaves an unforgettable impression on listeners. Meaning, it's probably Ian's most accessible single yet.

This time, Swiss Auto Club’s John Bonaventura teamed up with Ian and Chris to make it as big as it is, playing on it, producing it and contributing to the writing of it. And after featuring wonderful original art by Australia’s Smitten By Stephanie and England’s Allison Moore on the last two singles, the cover art for “Listening In” comes straight from Nashville, thanks to the one and only Sarah Fuchsia.

Lyrics:

Listening In
When you’re behind closed doors
I get down on all fours
I put my ear to the wall
I can hear it all

I can’t take it, oh-uh-oh
I just can’t take it
Why do you make it so hard on me?

When you’re alone with him
Why do I find myself listening in, listening in?

When the night starts to fall
We both wait for his call
And when the phone finally rings
I know I’ll hear everything

I can’t take it, oh-uh-oh
I just can’t take it
Why do you make it so hard on me?

When you’re alone with him
Why do I find myself listening in, listening in?
When you’re alone with him
Why do I find myself listening in, listening in?

(Why do I…spy?)

When you take off in his car
I’ll always know where you are
You make it so, make it so hard…

When you’re alone with him
Why do I find myself listening in, listening in?
When you’re alone with him
Why do I find myself listening in, listening in?
